Sitting in the clouds today as the rain is being whipped around by the wind for Cubs home opener. Yep, it has to be shitty on opening day. God's law.
We grabbed some recipes off the internet and had an impromptu Easter dinner at the old house this weekend, which has left us with somewhere around 7 lbs of ham, scalloped potatoes and tons of 'awesome broccoli' (the name of the dish). Talk to me on Wednesday about how I feel about ham and leftovers in general.
Saving money. Saving money. Saving money. Nah, I'll still be sick of ham by then. And it was damn yummy. I'm a pretty good predictor of what recipes will end up tasting like when I grab them off the internet.
Last I looked the Cubs were actually winning - yay! only an hour or so until it's time to go home. This will be my first red line home after a Cubs game - we'll see how horrifying it ends up being. Last year I think I got stuck riding the bus home and ended up having to walk home from Wrigley because the bus just stopped running. I recall being highly annoyed at the sheer numbers of drunken assholes. Who I would gladly be part of if it was nice outside and I took the day off work. Heh.
