How do even the short weeks end up being so grueling? Man, I have just spent the better part of this week staring at excel spreadsheets. My brain is about to explode.
I've been reading "Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk" by Legs McNiel and Gillian McCain. It has been keeping me up way too late at night because I don't want to stop reading. Very funny, very mean quotes from interviews all broken up in snippets. The best part is clearly everyone's disdain for Andy Warhol, yet the one book this reminds me the most of? The Andy Warhol Diaries.
What have I learned so far? Iggy Pop was a complete dick. That the idea behind getting an advance for your record deal and then making the record company spend huge amounts of money on feeding you and housing you was insurance to make sure they didn't drop you because they knew they could never recoup any of the money you were squandering without a shitload of record sales.
Also the cattiness of the professional groupies is hysterical. Yeah, she really was a whore, unlike me - I was doing it for love. Har.
Anywho. Time to maybe do some real work again.
