Some days I fight fights knowing they are futile because someone should fight them.
For two years now at work, the admin staff has had to stay late and cover the phones until 6 pm because a certain high muckity muck just decided to make that an edict because we have flex hours and he feels the phone should be covered that entire time. Valid point, but then shouldn't your receptionist have to work those hours?
Anyway, a new employee manual came out stating that the offical office hours are only until 5:30, so I made my boss point that out to the certain edict-giving dude. He promptly stated it didn't matter and made HR change the manual.
Ahh, dammit.
